Today, CloudHedge is proud to announce the general availability of CHAI (CloudHedge AI) — a patented agentic AI platform purpose-built for enterprise application modernization. CHAI is now available on AWS Marketplace, bringing autonomous, continuous modernization to organizations worldwide.
CHAI represents a fundamental shift in how enterprises approach legacy transformation. Instead of manual assessments, consulting engagements, and multi-year migration timelines, CHAI deploys intelligent agents that discover, analyze, and modernize applications autonomously — at a speed and scale that was previously impossible.
"Enterprises don't need another migration tool. They need an intelligent system that understands their applications as deeply as their best engineers do — and can act on that understanding at scale." — Abhijit Joshi, CEO, CloudHedge
The Three Pillars of CHAI
CHAI is built on three integrated products, each powered by specialized AI agents that work together to deliver end-to-end modernization:
CHAI Universe — Discover
CHAI Universe provides complete visibility into your application landscape. It automatically discovers and maps every application, VM, dependency, and interconnection across your datacenter. The result is a living, interactive map of your entire portfolio — the foundation for intelligent modernization decisions.
CHAI DART — Assess
CHAI DART (Discovery, Assessment, Recommendation & Transformation) performs deep architectural analysis of every application. It identifies modernization pathways — rehost, replatform, refactor, or retire — based on code complexity, dependency graphs, and cloud-readiness signals. DART generates actionable recommendations with effort estimates, risk scores, and priority rankings.
CHAI Flow — Modernize
CHAI Flow executes the modernization. It automatically containerizes applications, decomposes monoliths into microservices, generates Kubernetes manifests, builds CI/CD pipelines, and deploys to target cloud environments. Every transformation is validated, tested, and production-ready.
CloudHedge Product Rebranding: From OmniDeq to CHAI
CHAI is not a new product line built from scratch. It is the evolution of OmniDeq, CloudHedge's application modernization platform, upgraded and consolidated into a single AI-driven suite: CHAI (CloudHedge Agentic Intelligence).
The change is architectural, not cosmetic. The Omni-era tools automated individual steps, but engineers still wrote the scripts and carried the work between them. CHAI replaces that linear, tool-based automation with autonomous agents that discover, refactor, and containerize enterprise applications — which is why the same modernization work now moves significantly faster.
What changes for existing customers
- No lost functionality. Every feature previously available in OmniDeq is fully preserved. The same capabilities are now faster and driven by autonomous agents.
- One interface. No more jumping between separate tool dashboards — everything is housed within the centralized CHAI Universe™.
- Licensing and support carry over. Existing OmniDeq licenses and support agreements transition to the CHAI framework without service interruption.
Product mapping: legacy to current
If you are working from Omni-era documentation, runbooks, or contracts, this table maps the old terminology to the current platform names:
| Legacy nomenclature | Current nomenclature | Core functional purpose |
|---|---|---|
| OmniDeq | CHAI Universe™ | The overarching modernization platform and orchestration interface. |
| OmniDeq / Discover / DART | CHAI DART™ | The automated discovery, code analysis, and cloud-readiness assessment engine. |
| OmniDeq / Transform | CHAI Flow™ | The agentic execution engine that automates containerization and deployment pipelines. |
Why Agentic AI?
Traditional modernization tools automate individual steps — a lift-and-shift here, a container build there. CHAI is fundamentally different because it uses agentic AI: autonomous agents that observe, reason, plan, and execute across the entire modernization lifecycle.
This means CHAI does not just follow scripts. It makes intelligent decisions based on the unique characteristics of each application. A tightly-coupled Java monolith with 200 database dependencies gets a different modernization strategy than a stateless Python microservice. CHAI's agents understand the difference and act accordingly.
Key Capabilities
- Autonomous Discovery: Agentless scanning across hybrid infrastructure — no software to install, no credentials to share
- Deep Code Analysis: Static and dynamic analysis at the code level, not just infrastructure metadata
- Intelligent Recommendations: AI-powered 7R disposition for every application (retain, retire, rehost, relocate, repurchase, replatform, refactor)
- Automated Containerization: One-click generation of optimized Dockerfiles and container images
- Microservice Decomposition: AI-driven identification of service boundaries and automated code splitting
- Kubernetes-Native Deployment: Auto-generated Helm charts, manifests, and deployment pipelines
- Continuous Modernization: Not a one-time migration — CHAI continuously monitors and optimizes your modernized portfolio
Available on AWS Marketplace
CHAI is available today on AWS Marketplace, enabling organizations to procure and deploy the platform through their existing AWS agreements. This simplifies procurement, consolidates billing, and allows customers to apply their AWS committed spend toward CHAI licensing.
For organizations running hybrid or multi-cloud environments, CHAI supports modernization to AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, as well as on-premises Kubernetes clusters.
